As I stumble down the path of building/acquiring amps, I should stop and take note of what gear I have right now.
Guitars :
- Fender Stratocaster (2001) : This is an entry level Mexican strat (not Squier) and is completely stock. I bought it new in 2001 (I think).
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard (1997) : This is a stock Epi LP made in Korea (current models are made in Indonesia with cheaper woods.). It needs new tuners and I am planning on putting in some better pickups.
- Ibanez SZ520QM (2006) : I wasn’t looking for a shredder’s guitar but it was $220 on Craigs List and I’m glad I got it. Stock SD/Ibanez pickups.
- Ibanez Artcore Bass (AGB140T) : A beautiful bass with a tasty mellow sound.. it’s begging me to find a nice amp for it.
Amps
- Songworks Lil’ Lanilei 3350LT (2007) : This is a tube hybrid amp hand made in San Juan Capistrano. Tube pre-amp and power soak and solid state power stage.
- Gibson GA-5 Crestline Skylark (60′s) : An all tube amp in a push pull power output configuration (about 8 watts). 10″ Jensen speaker. Nearly bone stock (just power filter cap replacements)
- Gibson GA-5T Crestline Skylark Tremolo (60′s) : Similar to the GA-5 above, it’s on the bench right now.
Pedals
None. I haven’t needed a pedal since I got these two amps. I suppose a BluesBoy or something would be fun… or I could build a McTube…
Other
- Zoom PS04 : Cheap easy 4 track digital recorder that fits in the accessory compartment of a Strat case. Can’t beat that with a stick!
- Berhinger V-Amp2 : Yes, it’s a toy, but it’s a damn good toy. Lotsa fun sounds and way cheaper than the Line 6 stuff. I never use it any more though :-)
